Blepharitis and MGD

Blepharitis and Meibomian Gland Dysfuction (MGD) are both chronic conditions that can be managed with the help of your Optometrist with careful regular, eyelid hygiene. We will do an assessment and then recommend a combination of eye drops, heat treatment, lid scrubs, eye supplements or Blephex Treatment.

Blepharitis

This is where the eyelids become inflamed. It can give you red and puffy eyelids, crusty eyelashes, small styes and make your eyes feel irritated and itchy.

Meibomiam Gland Dysfunction (MGD)

This is where the Meibomian Glands along the lid margins become blocked. This means eyes may feel sore, itchy, dry, gritty and have a burning sensation
