National Eye Health Week 2018
Monday 24th September marks the start of National Eye Health Week 2018 when charities and health professionals across the UK come together to promote the importance of eye health and regular eye tests.
While most people value good eye health, far fewer actually take preventative steps to care for their eyes.
NEHW aims to change this, and we at Cranford Opticians join in the call for everyone to have regular eye tests, in the same way that we have dental check-ups.
We are fanatical about eye health. We have the very latest in eye test technology and we have over 30 years’ experience providing eye care for our clients.
We recommend that everyone aged 16+ has their eyes tested every two years, and every year for under 16s. And if you notice a change in your vision or eye comfort, we recommend you contact us between scheduled appointments for a check-up.
Here are some eye health facts you may not know:
About 2 million people in the UK are living with sight loss that significantly affects their day-to-day lives. In around half of these cases sight loss is avoidable!
An eye test can detect the early signs of eye conditions like glaucoma that can be treated if found early enough.
During any eye test, other health conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected.
To maintain healthy eyes, you should eat well, avoid smoking and wear eye protection during bright sunlight.
Don’t take your eyesight for granted.
With regular eye tests, we can ensure you enjoy good eye health and if there is a problem, early detection gives you the best chance of a resolution.
Call us today on 020 8759 9395 or book online. We offer both NHS and private eye tests and have a range of eyewear to suit all budgets.
